Abstract
The changes in the Information Centers are primarily related to three axes: users, reading and support. Such changes, contrary to what one might think a priori, do not alter the structure of information centers, keeping intact the interaction between the user and the document. Added to this, it is important to consider the social role of the library, which responds to a self-imposed mission of the State, reaffirmed by international agreements and declarations.
